Vlad Korol

Vlad Korol

Using a unique freezing process, Vlad Korol has developed a complex and experimental approach considering the very nature of photography. Korol came to international acclaim through his “Flora Criogenica”, a series of vibrant photographs that capture the natural world in the prime of its bloom. Hues and tones are exposed to his cryogenically process, freezing subjects in order to expose and control pure color and form. Through his abundant use of traditional practices — such as macro photography — Korol submerges his large-format images in a volume cryogenic solution. The result creates an aesthetic more reminiscent of paintings than the photographs of traditional studio work.
